Kids golfing equipment

OUR MISSION

The mission of U.S. Kids Golf is to help kids have fun learning and playing golf while building long lasting memories with family.

OUR HISTORY

U.S. Kids Golf was started in January 1997 as a solution to the problem its founder, Dan Van Horn, had when getting his kids into golf. His children, ages 3 and 6, were enthusiastic at first, but their interest quickly dropped. "They weren't having fun," Van Horn recalls. "It seemed that they lost interest after only 15 minutes. At the time, I didn't know cutoffs and junior clubs were so heavy. They were not only hurting my kids' swings, but also their desire to play."

That's when Dan Van Horn began developing Ultralight Kidsklubs, designed to be 25% lighter than adult and most junior clubs, and formed the company U.S. Kids Golf. Since then, parents and pros across the country and around the world have seen the incredible difference that our equipment has made in their child's swing and enthusiasm for the game. We continue to develop groundbreaking solutions for junior golfers everywhere.

  • U.S. Kids Golf offers nine sizes and two models of clubs, and players are fit by height instead of age. Hats, shirts, gloves and golf balls are also designed specifically for young players.

    ULTRALIGHT Clubs

Since 1997, ULTRALIGHT has been the industry standard for junior golf equipment. While other manufacturers offer a few sizes for a wide range of ages, U.S. Kids Golf offers nine sizes of Ultralight clubs and each set is made for players within a height range of just three inches. Young players can easily develop faster club head speeds because Ultralight clubs are 10 to 30 percent lighter than adult clubs. Shaft flexes are built for the specific club lengths and grips are made to fit in young players' hands. The result of all this engineering is a line of clubs that will encourage better swings, more fun, and a lifetime on the golf course.

    TOUR SERIES Clubs

There comes a time when a young golfer is no longer a beginner and needs something better. TOUR SERIES is our answer. Since being introduced in 2007, TOUR SERIES quickly became the number one choice of competitive players age 12 and under at the World Championship. Why, you might ask? Performance. The ball goes farther and the young player’s swing develops faster. What makes TOUR SERIES special and unique is that each size is designed and manufactured to provide a perfect fit. We accomplish this by customizing every aspect of each club including length, driver loft and volume, club head weight, shaft weight, frequency, flex with a low kick point, grip size and lie angle. TOUR SERIES equipment helps young golfers play their best…that’s why the best players, play TOUR SERIES.

  • The U.S. Kids Golf Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization that was established in 2001. The vision of the U.S. Kids Golf Foundation is to provide kids and their families the opportunity to participate in the game of golf through instruction and competition. There are two initiatives under the foundation, Play and Learn and Tournaments.

    Play and Learn

The Play and Learn division is the answer to a question many parents ask: “Where do I start?” U.S. Kids Golf offers all the resources a parent needs to introduce the game to the beginning golfer. Certified Coaches are experts in teaching golf to kids 12 years old and younger. More than 500 PGA and LPGA professionals have achieved certification since the program began in 2011, and our game-based teaching methods reinforce the “fun” element of the U.S. Kids Golf mission. U.S. Kids Golf Family Courses offer Forward Tees that scale the golf course to fit the skill of beginning golfers. players have more fun and families can create lifelong memories together on the golf course.

  • With more than 900 tournaments hosted yearly, players learn how to compete without having to travel far. Local Tours are designed for the beginning competitive golfer, as each event provides a fun environment at which kids can develop their skills. Two-day tournaments, such as State Invitationalsand Regional Championships, are ranked by Junior Golf Scoreboard and are the natural next step for competitive junior golfers. At each level, players may earn Priority Status in hopes of qualifying for the World Championship, held annually in Pinehurst, N.C. In 2013, more than 1,200 players from 40 countries vied for the title of World Champion in 13 age divisions. U.S. Kids Golf also conducts the Teen World Championship for players 13-18 years old, as well as the European Championship in Scotland.
